Kingston Bees

Beekeeping With Friends

Join us for regular meetups during the season and get access to workshops and information.

We welcome all beekeepers from all walks of life and all beekeeping persuasions.

Beekeeping

Learn

The group meets once a month during the season at the Firthside Apiary in Kingston and members are welcome to attend. We share stories and experiences as we enjoy our bees together. Its a great way for new beekeepers to get support and have questions answered by more experienced beekeepers.

Hive Management

Build

In addition to sharing information, the group often spends time at hives exploring different aspects of beekeeping. Once a season we choose a build project to complete. Previous projects have included: solar wax melters, bee escape boards, Scion swarm traps, split boards and quilt boxes, and telescopic lids.

Lets not forget the morning tea!

The Sunday morning teas are legendary. We ask people to bring a plate to share or provide a gold coin donation to cover costs for tea, coffee and milk.

About Us

Kingston Bees started out as a meeting place for beekeepers to get together and discuss all things Bee. Over time, more new beekeepers started honeing their skills (no pun intended) and the little group  expanded to include beekeepers from far and wide, and from novice to advanced beekeepers.

Kingston Bees currently has 160 members who reflect a large diversity in hives and interests in beekeeping.

All beekeepers are welcomed.
